The Exotic Mountains of Himalaya

The Himalayan mountain range is the highest mountain hills of South Asia. It separates India from the rest of Asia. Himalayas are the home of the main rivers of India thatare responsible for providing water to a large part of the subcontinent India.

Some highest mountains in the entire world are located in Himalayas, with more than 110 peaks rising to elevations of 7,300 meters or more above sea level. Mount Everest is the world's highest peak, with an elevation of 8,850 meters above sea level.

The Kangchenjunga is the tallest mountain peak in India, and is ranked as the 3rd highest peak in the world with an elevation of 28,169 ft. The tallest mountain Kangchenjunga is situated at the border of India and Nepal in great Himalayas range. Kangchenjunga section has five peaks, and the region has 12 more peaks over 23,000 ft.

Nanda Devi

The Nanda Devi Mountain is located in the Garhwal Himalayas region in Uttarakhand. Nanda Devi is the tallest peak in the two massifs, another one is called Nanda Devi East, situated at the eastern part. Nanda Devi is the one of the tallest mountains in the entire world, and is ranked the second tallest in India.

Kamet


The Kamet is the tallest peak in the Zaskar mountain Range of Garhwal region in Chamoli in Uttarakhand. Kamet is the second tallest mountain peak of Garhwal Himalayas and the third tallest mountain peak of India with an elevation of 25,446 ft. Kamet mountain peak is bordered by three main adjacent peaks and lies very close to the Tibet.

Saltoro Kangri


The Saltoro Kangri is the tallest peak of Saltoro Mountain ranges, that is a sub-range of Karakoram, the mostly spread range of greater Himalaya mountains. Saltoro Mountains are located in the center of great Karakoram, near to the longest glaciers in the world, known as the Siachen Glacier. The Saltoro Kangri is 31st tallest mountain peak in th world with an elevation of 25,400 ft in Kashmir.

Saser Kangri


The Saser Kangri are a group of five magnificent mountain summits situated in the Saser Muztagh range in the Jammu and Kashmir. Saser Muztagh is one of the sub-ranges of the great Karakoram Range that lies at the South-East part of the Karakoram range. Saser Kangri is the tallest mountain peak amongst the all five brothers with an elevation 25,171 ft. It is ranked 35th in the world.

Mamostong Kangri

The glorious Mamostong Kangri is the tallest mountain of sub-ranges Rimo Mustagh of the Great Karakoram range. Mamostong Kangri is situated at a splendid altitude of 24,659 ft in the remote areas of the Siachen Glacier. Mamostong Kangri is ranked as 48th tallest peak in the world.

Rimo massif

The Rimo massif is situated at the north side of Rimo Muztagh in the well-known Karakoram ranges. The lined mountains are in the North-East part of the great Siachen Glacier, with an elevation of 24,229 ft. Rimo Mountains consist of four summits, with the Rimo I (24,229 ft) as the tallest peak amongst them.

Hardeol

Hardeol, as known as the Temple of God, is one of the main mountain summits of the Kumaon Himalayas, situated in the North side of Sanctuary, guarding the Nanda Devi. The 23,461 ft tall Hardeol peak is located in the Milam valley of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. Hardeol summit lies very next to another Himalayan mountain summit, known as Tirsuli, with a height of 23,209 ft.

The Chaukhamba peak is the tallest peak in the Gangotri group, located in the Garhwal Himalaya regions of Uttarakhand. The Gangotri has a total of four peaks, and Chaukhamba I is the tallest amongst them, with an elevation of 23,419 ft. Chaukhamba received its name due to the four big summits found near each other.
