Mt. Everest

1. Trek route to Mt. Everest base camp will always lead the list. 17 to 25 days of trek, starting from Kathmandu to the Khumbu region to get a glimpse of Chomolungma - local name of Mt. Everest is well known amongst the trekkers. There is another way, from Lukla via Namche Bazaar to Gorek Shep, which holds an aesthetic view of the tallest mountain in the world. From there trekkers go towards Everest base camp, visiting Gokyo Lakes.

2. The second famous trek route is Annapurna Circuit

To embark on the trek, which takes around 21 days around the entire Annapurna belt, reaching a height of 5,300 meters (17,388 feet), the circuit traverses the mountains and glaciers of the Annapurna Conservation Area. Walking through Diverse terrain, from steamy jungle to high alpine, and passing through a region dominated by Tibetan Buddhist culture brings the amazing pleasure of trekking in Nepal.

Annapurna Sanctuary trek

3. Thirdly, Annapurna Sanctuary trek, which begins from Pokhara and leads to the base of this impressive 8,091 meter (26,545 feet) mountain. This trek takes about eight to ten days. The base camp, at 4,157 meters (13,638 feet), can also be reached as an extension from the Annapurna Circuit.

Anatoli Boukreev, one of the world's best mountaineers, was killed in an avalanche at the peak in 1997.

Mt. Kangchenjunga Circuit

4. Mt. Kangchenjunga Circuit is the fourth best trek. It's a remote and less travelled route to the base camp of Mt. Kangchenjunga (8,586 meters, 28,169 feet). It takes around twenty days to reach at the base camp of Mt. Kangchenjunga. Mingle with the local people and enjoy the trek with very basic amenities in a quite comfortable way.

Manaslu Circuit Trek

5. As a fifth best trekking option, the Manaslu Circuit Trek has seen a rise in demand from the year 2010. It has an official name 'teahouse' trek. It is also a less travelled path which holds an enormous amount of scenic beauty for the trekkers. This route goes around Mt. Manaslu (8,156 m), reaching its peak at Larkya Pass, which offers unimpeded views of Mt. Manaslu.

Upper Mustang Trek

6. Another best trek trail is the Upper Mustang Trek, the sixth one. Known as a geopolitically sensitive area which depicts the Tibetan culture and landscape, from 1992 it was open for trekking. The Buddhist monasteries and their festivals draw the attentions of trekkers from all over the world. Two path on either side of the Mustang Valley were the ancient trade routes used by caravans.

7. The seventh best trek route is Three Passes Trek. Trekking via Khumbu via Kongma La, Cho La, and Renjo La brings the best experience of trekking, with Everest Base Camp is the main attraction during the season of spring. This trek starts and end at Namche Bazaar.

8. Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek is the eighth best trek route in Nepal, and the most challenging trek in this list. Dhaulagiri Circuit is at the West of the Annapurna Circuit. Trekkers spend almost three days at a height of 5000m snow clad field, but the beauty and diversity of the landscape is worth taking this trek, carving a route beneath sheer cliff walls along Dhaulagiri's western flank before ascending two 5000m+ passes for unobstructed views of the entire Annapurna Range.

9. Makalu Base Camp Trek is the ninth best trek route. It's for its diversity of flora and fauna in local small beautiful villages along the banks of the Arun River. Starting at 400m in Tumlingtar, trek of 5120m needs to be walked to reach Makalu Base Camp. A rustic teahouse trek will take the trekkers to the world's 5th highest mountain, with Lhotse (8,516m), Everest (8,850m), Baruntse (7,220m), and Chamlang (7,319m) not far off.

Dolpo Trek

10. The last and tenth best trek route is the remote Buddhist point of Nepal, known as upper Dolpo Trek, at the base of Crystal Mountain. Natural beauty of this magical place draws thousands of pilgrims each year, like Mt Kailash. Nagdalo La (5350m), Shey La (5000m), and Jeng La (5110m) are the three high points to pass. It's a challenging trek that involves long climbs, so group trekking is required.
